Saat al Istijba

Saat al Istijba- Time when duas are granted.

A human is always in need of his creator. We might think, after being granted, something desperately needed, “that’s all we want”. But, our desires have no end. One wish/need leads to another. And every phase of life brings us different wants/need. And not just about this worldly life, we seek hereafter as well. And who is better than ALLAH to grant us our needs, desires and wishes.. Subhanallah!!

Did you know, ALLAH loves when his servant asks him of his needs. If you seek help or anything from a human, even if it’s our mother, they will eventually nag and become irritated. But how merciful is our Allah, not only he loves to be asked and to give his servants but Alhamdulillah, we have few blessed time slots from ALLAH, in which if a man makes dua, his/her dua is granted. One such time is, Saat al Istijba

Narrated by al-Bukhari (5295) and Muslim (852) from Abu Hurayrah who said: Abu’l-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “On Friday there is an hour when, if a Muslim happens to pray at that time and ask Allah for something good, He will give it to him.

This hour is usually after Asr Salah and before the Maghrib prayer.

Therefore, make use of this time and make lots of dua to ALLAH. Ask for all the guidance and khair in both the world’s. To ALLAH , nothing is impossible. Therefore, don’t ever doubt or think that you are asking too much. Remember the entire ummah in your duas. Both living and dead.

A simple way to gain Allah’s blessings and help, in everything we do.

Why is it prescribed to say Tasmiyah
“بسم الله الرحمن الحريم”
before anything that we do?

The translation is- “In the name of ALLAH, the most gracious and the most merciful.

When one begins their task with this beautiful statement, we seek Allah’s blessings in it. And not just his blessings, but also help in order to complete the task successfully.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

The phrase Bismillah is a prepositional phrase (jarr wa majroor) that is connected to an implied action that is appropriate to the context. So when you want to read Qur’an, it implies: In the name of Allah I read. When you want to do wudoo’, it implies: In the name of Allah I do wudoo’. When you want to slaughter an animal, it implies: In the name of Allah I slaughter. We regard what is implied as a verb, because there is an implicit action, and we say that the action is implied after saying Bismillah for two reasons:

1. Seeking blessing (barakah) by beginning in the name of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted.
2. To make our beginning exclusively in the name of Allah.

We must ensure that we implement the habit of saying “Bismillahir rahmaan nir Raheem” not just while performing the acts of worship but also in our daily tasks (that does not involve sin) For eg, while making bed, pickup up bags or while lifting anything, during daily chores etc.

Indeed, when you begin with the name of ALLAH, there is no doubt that blessings will rush like a sea foam.

The right way of Hijab

Hijab is a fardh (obligatory) act of ibadah, that is done to obey and please ALLAH. It is not just a modest piece of clothing or modest dressing. Therefore, doing the act in the right manner is the key. May ALLAH guide us and allow us to follow pardah (covering) in the manner which is right and most pleasing to him and may he forgive our shortcomings and accept it from us Aameen

Note- This was a question asked to Shaykh al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him). And the guidelines of the post are his response.

Extended, Explanation with reference-

1. O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
2. “And not to show off their adornment.” [al-Nur 24:31]
3. Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “During the last days of my ummah, there will be women who are clothed but naked, with something on their heads like the humps of camels. Curse them, for they are cursed
4. Abu Musa al-Ash’ari said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Any woman who puts on perfume then passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, is an adulteress.
5. Abu Hurayrah (r.a) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cursed the man who wears women’s clothes, and the woman who wears men’s clothes.
6. It is stated in Shari`ah that Muslims, men and women alike, should not resemble or imitate the disbelievers with regard to worship, festivals or clothing that is specific to them. This is an important Islamic principle
7. Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever wears a garment of fame and vanity in this world, Allah will clothe him in a garment of humiliation on the Day of Resurrection, then He will cause Fire to flame up around him.” (Hijab al-Marah al-Muslimah, p. 54-67)

Welcoming Ramadan

🌟 Ramadan is just around the corner. If you haven’t started to prepare for it. We still have time to welcome this blessed month in shaa ALLAH.

1. In every dua you make, especially in the salah, ask Allah- Allhumma Balighna Ramadan (Oh ALLAH help us reach Ramadan). Aameen.. In addition to this, make dua that ALLAH helps us reach Ramadan with emaan, health and aafiyah.

2. Everyday is a different day and sometimes it can be the same. Have your day planned. Divide and balance your time for both your deen and duniya. Make sure you give a dedicated and undisturbed time to your prayers, to Qur’an recitation, to learning and Islamic course (if any), to Dhikar etc.

3.Take a planner. Mention the 5 salah, Nafl prayers, morning and evening Adhkar, 2-4 pages of Qur’an or more, whichever one can do. Add up any other forms of worship, if you can. Daily, tick the boxes.

4. Alhamdulillah, In Ramadan it becomes easy to stop sinning. But sinning should not be done even after the month of Ramadan is completed. Therefore, Write down 3 sins (at least) that you would want to give up, from this Ramadan to forever, in shaa ALLAH

5. Make sure you reduce phone usage, especially your social media, to ultimate necessary usage. Don’t mindlessly scroll, if you have free time. Instead watch beneficial lectures. Protect yourself from unnecessary input of wasteful content

6. Making Iftaar & Suhoor for everyone, definitely is a means of gaining huge reward. But, it is saddening to see that, women spend most of their time (especially when time is close to breaking fast & taraweeh) in the kitchen..They miss the precious time for making dua. In addition to this, it creates exhaustion, that refrains from active ibadah. Everyone must participate in the preparation of meals.  This lessens the burden and speeds up the process. This also ensures, nobody at the table misses the golden opportunity for making dua and worship.

7. Don’t forget the entire ummah in your precious duas.

Realising the reality of life

➿ We have been the victims of “Capturing everything and putting it online”. I’ll admit, I was there too. It starts with just a click, to a habit and then to an addiction. To an extent that if you don’t click a good picture of what you wear or what you eat etc you become restless.

☁️ Think about it. Is privacy not power? It is we who give away this power to people around us. And yes, an evil eye is always around the corner. It’s not just about privacy being power, it’s also about how peaceful your life will be.

🤌 If you don’t believe in this, ask celebrities or youtubers or bloggers or vloggers, who put up their almost entire life on the screens. How stressful is to have an “internet acceptable living”. Because if you don’t, plenty are out there to comment down your videos and posts. And no matter how aesthetic or luxurious life, you put up on your social handles, there is always someone to put you down and make you feel ungrateful for all the blessings which you already have.

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT

Assalamualikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraktahu. It’s high time We should discuss death.
Do we fear passing away?
Many of us, I’m sure, respond “yes” right away.

What if ALLAH had told us that whether or not we had good souls when we died, we would still go to Jannah? This prohibits testing barzaq, questioning the grave, tightening the grave, etc.

Will we now be afraid of dying?
The answer will be NO right away.
What can we infer from this?
We come to the conclusion that we have no fear of dying. We worry about what will happen in the hereafter. We worry about how we will respond to the questions posed. Where are we going, and have I done enough nice deeds?

Fear of death won’t prevent death or slow it down. The only option we have is to get ready for it so that, even if we leave today, we are in the finest possible condition to meet Allah.

How to benefit a deceased loved one?

Assalamualikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraktahu. The word “DEATH” is not just a word. It’s a sentence. Indeed, a life changing one. It’s not the end of one’s life, it’s a beginning to a permanent journey.

When we live in this duniya, our guardians take care of us, comfort us, do their best to provide us with both need and luxuries..but in the hereafter life, it is our deeds, that acts, as a subscription to our provision (reward or punishment). Indeed, What we sow, is what we reap!!

There are few famous quotes, that have stuck with me, since the day I came across them. It said-

1) Don’t be astonished by my state (grave). For once I was like you and for other, you will become like me

2) You will be forgotten, like you never existed

3) It is not the living who brings the deceased to their final destination (grave). It is the deceased, instead.

For those who are alive, we must be thankful that ALLAH Has given us another day to repent and become a better practicing muslim. We must strive our best, everyday, to please Allah and seek his forgiveness.

There is an authentic Hadith regarding benefiting the deceased. The hadith is:

“When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end, except three: Ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who will pray for him.”

One of the most beautiful aspects of Islam is- Sadqe jaaria.
Alhamdulilah we must thank ALLAH for his mercy of allowing us to perform the above acts for our deceased, so that even when their account books have been closed (as they cannot perform any good deed any more) we can do it on behalf of them. This shall in shaa ALLAH raise their rank and reward, as well.

As we make an effort for performing sadqe jaaria not just for ourselves but also for our deceased loved ones, we must make an effort to look out in other 4 things, that I feel are very important-

1) Social Media: Just like sadqe jaaria (continuos reward) there is also a concept of continuous sin.
I have seen many cases of young teenagers, wherein, the family of the deceased, is trying to put down all their social media accounts (tik tok, fb, insta etc). Sometimes the efforts are successful, but at times, it goes in vain due to public status of account, lack of access etc.  All these efforts, because of the content they posted earlier when they were alive. The more number of people see it, share it, enjoy it, the sin keeps falling onto the deceased.

Humble request to each and everyone out there, Do not post any picture or video (be it a post or story or status or highlight) with songs, pics, videos, reels without hijab (both men n women). Anything that can make you regret in the grave, DO NOT POST IT.

Another advice that I can give is,  let someone from ur family or friends, who are concerned for your aqirah, do it for you. This is for those who are taking their last breaths. This is one act that should be encouraged. If they give you the access, it will be easy on both the parties to do the rightful.

Even those pics and videos that are present at home in albums and phones, do not show them to non mehrams. And if you are non mahram, yourself, do not look into the deceased pictures in the form of admiring them or when you miss them. For mahram, keep those pictures to yourself and to non mehrams, please delete it. If one cannot protect it at all (from non mehrams) in such cases, discard everything. I know that this is not easy for us (living). We have so many memories attached with that person. But, think of the deceased. How relaxed they will be, if this is done. For our selfishness, let not those who passed away, bear the harm.

2) Know their debts:

Debt is one deed, that is not let pass, even for the Martyr. This is a grave deed everyone must be thoughtful about. Let’s look into this narration:

We were sitting with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he raised his head towards the sky, then he put his palm on his forehead and said: “Subhaan-Allaah!  What a strict issue has been revealed to me!” We remained silent and were afraid. The following morning I asked him, “O Messenger of Allaah, what is this strict issue that has been revealed?” He said, “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if a man were killed in battle for the sake of Allaah, then brought back to life, then killed and brought back to life again, then killed, and he owed a debt, he would not enter Paradise until his debt was paid off.” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i, 4367.

This hadith tells us the seriousness regarding the issue of debt. If you owe money to someone, pray Allah that he gives you so that you can get it off you. Secondly, make an effort (the right way) to clear it off. Thirdly, keep an account of it in a book. Let some of your closed ones know regarding this matter. So that even if you pass away, someone from them, can help to repay it on behalf of you in sha allah.

3) Zakat!!!

Zakat is an essential pillar of Islam and not paying it has its own consequences. When you see yourself eligible for zakat, pay it up. As mentioned earlier, make dua to Allah to help us all pay zakat righteously. Save and make effort to pay on time. And lastly, keep an account and let your close ones, concerned for your aqirah, know about it. For if one passes away with a pending amount, one of them can pay it

4) Wealth distribution:

Not one, but i have seen number of cases where the siblings are fighting for their share. The sisters, either get their share (less than what Shariah has mentioned or what they rightly deserve) or they get no share at all. The spouse (especially the wife) either gets something (given the deserved part or less than that) or nothing at all.

This is for everyone, to make a will and divide it according to the Shariah during their lifetime. Some people opt for dividing it equally among spouse and children. Whatever the guardian decides, there must be no partiality. This is so important, that when it is not done and the guardian passes away, we see a wave of anger, jealousy, hatred, murders, black magic etc and what not, within the family members, and that too for what? To only gain a worldly benefit. A benefit, that his owner (the guardian) couldn’t take along with him in his  grave and left it behind for his/her lineage.

Allahumma inni asaluka husnal qAtima (aameen). Let’s in shaa ALLAH live our best and do not land up in doing deeds that can cost us huge in grave.

Barakallahu feekum. Jazakallah khair for reading it. Share for sadq-e-jaaria.

Assalamualikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraktahu

What not to say!!!!

Assalamuwalaikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraktahu sisters and brothers..i hope ur all doing well by the mercy of Allah and in the best state of imaan and health. I learnt from my mother, she said- Understand that, may b what ur trying to convey is a good thing but how ur trying to convey it matters the most. I think there are so many times in our lives where PeoLe tell us or we tell People, unintentionally, some of the worst advise. One may not realise an after effect that comes along with it. May allah help us all and forgive us aameen..

And the worst advise I’m talking of is – EITHER YOU FOLLOW EVERYTHING IN ISLAM OR DON’T DO IT AT ALL. Yaani (in urdu- follow karna hai toh poora karo ya phir mat karo) IT’S LIKE SAYING u either pray 5 times a day or don’t pray at all.

First of all let’s take the same I quoted above and give an example of salah itself. Now imagine someone is doing their best towards their prayers to pray and they missed, for example – fajar. Would any wise person say that- LOOK I think you either pray 5 times or don’t pray at all? So by this advise, either this person should pray all 5 times and by mistake if they missed a prayer, they miss all other 4 as well, instead of making it up..now think, what If someone actually follows it? They either pray all 5 or don’t pray for the whole day..any mindful muslim won’t do this, right???? Because if someone said this bad advice and the other person follows it, what will they answer Allah when asked about it?

One more incident i would like to throw light on. For example, and mind you, there are many sisters who go thru this so many times. and this is not just said by non muslims, these are words even from Muslim, i.e from our community. if a sister is trying to work on her hijab, she isn’t there yet but she’s trying her best. So why do the sisters get to hear the same advice, that u either follow it or don’t do it at all. You know how dangerous is this type of discouragement?

Imagine saying this to someone, which ofcourse causes a damage . And that sister who is trying her best to be a hijabi, all of a sudden stops. Bcz u said u either follow it completely or don’t do at all. So listening to ur advice she stopped. How are u going to answer Allah for this discouragement?

In today’s world, we have forgot the beauty of correcting people. We all have heard stories of prophets right. Right from Adam a.s to prophet Muhammad sallalaahu alayhi wassalam. How did they correct others? Were they harsh or sarcastic? No. They were worried and used best of the words they could, to do their best, to make the person understand and accept. So why are we being harsh, when we are Correcting PPL?

Instead, our approach should be that we go to PPL who are facing some difficulty in their imaan..be it salah, fasting, hijab, earning, modesty etc. Anything. We should have a healthy conversation, where we understand what makes certain things difficult for them, instead of giving such bad advises or putting them down. We should encourage them saying that hey I’m with u. We shall do it togather..

Remember – Think before you say. Think before you act. In the end, i would like to quote a hadith from Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 130, and it’s grade is Hasan
Mundhir at-Tawri reported what Muhammad ibn ‘Ali (ibn al-Hanafiyya) said about, “Is the repayment of kindness anything except kindness?” He said, “It is not denied to either the pious or the deviant.”

By this hadith, we all understand the importance, kindness carries. Remember to be kind is not to be a fool. To be kind, was from the manners of our beloved prophet Muhammad sallalaahu alayhi wassalam. So let’s do our best to follow the same manner in shaa ALLAH.

Jazakallah khair assalamualikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraktahu.

LOST & FOUND: Little things, in which you call out and find ALLAH

Assalamualikum wa rahmatullahi wa baraktahu. Hope you are doing well by the guidance and mercy of ALLAH. Today I would like to share an incident of my life, that was a beautiful experience to feel the closeness to ALLAH. To learn the beauty of being a Muslim. Alhamdulilah.

I would like to start with the verse that striked me after I was relieved from the testing situation-

Adh-Dhariyat 51:50

فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

So flee to Allah . Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

Alhamdulilah, when ALLAH helps you understand his deen, every situation now and then, helps you to relate to his words of the holy book (The Qur’an). The first part of it- “So flee to ALLAH” crossed my mind. If you look into the tafseer this basically means, that you find shelter and trust in ALLAH. The word used here is, ففرو which translates to “FLEE”. Not crawl, Not walk, Not jog, But to FLEE. Litreally, Flee to ALLAH…

Now let me narrate what actually happened and what bought this verse to my mind biznillah. So I happened to come at my sister’s place. Alhamdulilah she had given birth to a cutest baby boy (barakallahu feekum). We happen to order parcels online for which C.O.D was the mode of payment. Now she has placed the cash with my mom to pay for the same.

One fine day, she told me that a package will be coming and I misheard the amount. It was of few bucks But I took it as a Grand. The very next day, my mom happens to find the missing amount. She questioned me the same and I conveyed her the same. When it was bought to my elder sister’s notice, she said the amount wasn’t that huge and no other parcel came by of such amount.

And this was bought to my notice. Subhanallah. And even for the parcel (which my sister intimidated me about) was taken by my mom and not me. This caused chaos as to whom did i pay? And if i did, which parcel was it for?

It hit me like a truck because most importantly it wasn’t my money to loose. It was someone else’s hard earned money. In the midst of this panic situation, ALLAH helped me first to remember him and seek his help. Within my heart, I started reciting all duas I was taught by ALLAH that are a means to seek Allah’s help and ease. I sat for a while thinking of the money and reciting the adhkar.

I was barely in that panic tensed situation for 5-10 mins, I believe, and then miracle happened. Allah’s help reached me. He helped me remember that I dint pay the amount to anybody. Instead, I took the amount from purse and kept it aside in another place so that amount doesn’t get mixed with the rest. Alhamdulilah.

I was having tears of joy. Firstly because, ALLAH helped me out. If it wasn’t for his help, I could never be able to remember the amount, let alone finding it. Secondly because, ALLAH saved me from loosing someone else money which was an amanah. He saved me from being held accountable on the day of judgement. Thirdly, ALLAH protected me and my honour from getting harmed in anyone’s eyes and heart.

And when alhamdulilah everything was back to normal, the verse mentioned above striked me. I learnt that, being a Muslim, you & I need to flee to ALLAH, even if there is a minor inconvenience. Just like a toddler runs to it’s mom for every little thing. There can be possibility of mother getting annoyed by continuous calling and talking of toddler but ALLAH will never get angry or annoyed for constantly running to him, even for little things subhanallah ♥️ Instead, ALLAH loves it

We do remember ALLAH during great difficulties, but how many of us run to him like a baby, when there is a minor inconvenience. There is a beautiful hadith as well, which I would like to share in shaa ALLAH:

At-Tirmidhi narrates from ‘Anas, radiallahu ‘anhu, who said that the Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Each of you should ask for his needs from Allah, even if the strap of your sandal breaks, because if Allah does not facilitate it, it will never be possible.”

These little incidents be it a good one or a difficult one, when you find ALLAH in them, It helps to build our imaan in shaa ALLAH. And there is no difficulty, that is difficult to ALLAH subhanahu wa ta’ala. We might be facing situations like that of mountains and much bigger. But remember, to ALLAH, it is like a speck of dust. That’s all.

Find ALLAH and flee to him ❤️. Trust me, when you run to him, he will never turn you down. Jazakallah khair, fiamaanillah 💗

Morning and Evening Adhkar and few other short duas:

Importance of Adhkar after fajar and asar:

The du‘aa’s and adhkaar mentioned will protect the Muslim from harms and evils of all kinds, by Allah’s leave, but that is not necessarily so. If a person is affected by harm despite regularly reciting these adhkaar, then that is by the decree of Allah, may He be exalted, and there is great wisdom in what He commands and decrees. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“For each (person), there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah” [Sura ar-Ra‘d 13:11].
‘Ikrimah narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas that he said: “They guard him by the Command of Allah” – this refers to angels who protect him from in front and from behind, but when the decree of Allah comes, they step back.
Mujaahid said: There is no person who does not have an angel appointed over him, to protect him whilst he sleeps and when he is awake from the jinn, humans and vermin, so none of them come towards him, intending him ill, but the angel says: Get back – except for something that Allah decrees is to reach him, then it befalls him.
Tafseer Ibn Katheer (4/438)
