Duaa: Never underestimate it

Assalamualikum. As a Muslim, we pray, we do our best interms of dhikar, reading and understanding Qur’an, giving sadqa, doing your best in performing rights and responsibilities. Little do we realise that Duaa is also a form of worship. Also little is our practice to ask ALLAH (i.e. make dua)

I won’t lie saying- I always made dua and I have been consistent. Just like any other person, I used to make dua at the time of need. But when I realised the power of dua and beauty of asking ALLAH alone, I decided to ask ALLAH alone and always turn to him first.

There are certain aspects of dua that are beautiful. 1) Dua is heard even if u are in a closed room. Even if the world doesn’t hear it, ALLAH who is above the 7skies is hearing you. Therefore, nothing goes unheard and unknown. 2) ALLAH knows what you are even going to say in dua. He knows how you will frame it. He knows certain things that you hesitate to talk. He is always their to listen to you. ALLAH will never be tired of your repetitive duas. Infact, he is always pleased when you ask Allah time and again. 3) There is never a NO to your dua. ALLAH either gives you what you want or he delays and gives it to you or he gives you something better. But it’s never a no. 4)Reward of unfulfilled dua in aqirah. For example there is a dua you made that wasn’t fulfilled in this world. Don’t worry you will have it in your hereafter. Imagine you made a dua and you even forgot about it with time. And Allah rewards you and you are in shock that even this ALLAH dint let it go. Subhanallah ❤️ no doubt ALLAH is just. 5) ALLAH is too shy to send you empty handed. He is the king of the worlds. Everything that exists belongs to him. He is Al-Ghanni (The self sufficient one) and Al- Mughnee (The enricher). Imagine Allah being shy to send us off with empty hand. Then why are we shy to ask from our creator who doesn’t let us go empty handed.

Now remember that Allah’s timing is perfect. He knows what to give you and when to give you. Many people make dua and loose hope thinking it’s not gonna happen. Remember that disheartening your hope is a whisper of Shaitan. So don’t let that happen.

One of the examples that we can take is from the story of Prophet Moses (alayh salaam). He made the dua, same constant dua for 40 YEARS. If you think of today’s time. It’s someone’s half the age. 40 YEARS! Yet, moosa alayhee salaam never lost hope and he knew that someday ALLAH will grant his dua. And Prophet Moses alayh salaam dua was granted during the time when Pharoah was running behind him and Prophet Moses alayh salaam and his people were stuck between the sea and Pharoah army. Even during such a tensed situation, Prophet Moses alayh salaam said to his people that We have ALLAH he won’t let us down SubhaanAllah..

Another aspect is that to ask ALLAH alone ALWAYS not people not anyone… ALWAYS ALLAH FIRST. It is by Allah the help is going to reach you or me. Depend upon him. Again this can be seen and learnt during the time of Prophet Ibrahim alayh salaam. When he was about to be thrown in the pile of fire, angels descended and asked Prophet Ibrahim alayh salaam that If he needs help. Prophet Ibrahim alysalaam said NO, ALLAH will help me. Subhanallah.. Imagine his age, his situation and people around him thirsty to kill him and his faith in ALLAH.. SubhaanAllah.

There are many examples that prophets and the believers made dua and ALLAH granted them. Remember to ask ALLAH first and ALLAH alone. Also to remain patient with the decree of ALLAH. Trust his plans.

You might ask how did I strengthened myself in making dua. So here are few incidents of my life that strengthened me to make dua and keeping making it. 1) I am someone who had alot of acne issues. No matter what I tried I had problems coming in. So one day I came across a serum which had good feedback. I happened to ask my mom for it and she said no. I was a bit disheartened because I really wanted to give a shot to this. I did understand my mum perspective as well as she was worried that it should not go worse. However, that moment made me turn to ALLAH. I said Allah that ya allah you know my situations. I’m a student I don’t earn that I go myself and get it. Ya ALLAH if this serum has shifa for me (biznillah) then make ways for me to get it. If not, replace it with something that can help me with my acne. You won’t believe, after a week (I believe), my mum herself she came upto me and said- Do you really want to order this serum? If yes I’m placing and order. Subhanallah that’s when I realised that I need to ask ALLAH first to make my ways if it’s beneficial for me. If it’s not beneficial that replace it with what’s good. But ask ALLAH first.

Another incidents were I wanted to buy a make-up since so long and a diary ( I dint make dua for it, It was just a wish in my heart). Even that very thing was heard by ALLAH. ALLAH O Akbar. The very next day my sister took me shopping with her and she bought it for me. It was just a wish that wasn’t even said in the prayer Yet, ALLAH heard and granted. Alhamdulilah ❤️

You might think that’s nothing major. It’s a little thing. But remember, ALLAH opens the heart of a believer with signs that can be small and not great. That’s how ALLAH opens heart of believers who understand. Even in these small signs, there is alot to be thankful and alot to realise that with love, fear, faith and hope in ALLAH, your life will sail smoothly even through the darkest storms.
