Deeds

When I read these lines, there is one particular verse, I recall. For a reader who understands it, knows that the verse makes the reader both happy & hopeful but also, anxious & fearful.

*Allah says in the Qur’an, Surah An-Nahl, Verse 111*

“The day (that) everyone will come disputing in his own behalf; and everyone will be rewarded in full (for) what he has done, and they will not be dealt with unjustly.*

One can ask, how can this make a reader both happy and sad. I say, read it again and again… ALLAH tells us that on the day of judgement, “one is rewarded in full”, which means, the reward is both for good deeds and bad deeds. Nothing will be swept under the rug. Each and every single act done by us in every single second of life will be presented to us. May Allah forgive us Aameen

And further, “they will not be dealth with unjustly”. This means, even if a soul gets punished on the day of judgement, it is not because Allah is unjust (astagfirullah) it is because of our own choices that are to be blamed, which we made in this life. Yes, ALLAH is Ar-Rahmaan and Ar-Raheem but he is also Al-Adl (The just).

*Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Your nafs is just like your enemy, once it finds you serious, it obeys you. If it finds weakness from you, it will take you as a prisoner.” [Bada’i Al-Fawa’id, v. 3, p. 1202]*

We need to acknowledge our actions and hold ourselves accountable each day. Remember, ALLAH is merciful but ALLAH is also the one who can punish. La hawla wala quwwata illa billah.

May ALLAH make us amongst his obedient slaves and grant us a good end aameen. Learn and share for sadq-e-jaaria ✨
